In addition to being able to create a new Workflow, SharpSpring enables you to modify an existing Workflow.

The following video will show you how to modify an existing workflow in SharpSpring. However, if you prefer, a written step-by-step guide is available below the video for your convenience.

Step-by-Step Guide to Modifying an Existing Workflow

Step 1: Click on “Automation” in the top navigation bar.

Step 2: Select "Workflows" in the drop down menu.

Step 3: Find the Workflow you want to modify and click on the gray settings button (looks like a gear) located to the far right of the Workflow name.

Step 4: Click on "Edit" in the drop down menu

Step 4: Add, delete and edit rules as you's you like!

Precautions for Modifying an Active Workflow

When making changes to an active Workflow it is important to keep in mind the following:

  • Actions removed from an existing Workflow WILL NOT prevent these actions from occurring for contacts that were already a member of the Workflow.
EX. An active email drip Workflow that sends 3 separate emails, but was then edited to remove the 3rd, will still send the 3rd email to members of the Workflow prior to the edit

  • Actions added to an existing Workflow WILL NOT be applied to contacts that were already a member of the Workflow.
EX. An active email drip Workflow that sends 3 separate emails, and is edited to include a 4th, will still only send 3 emails to members of the Workflow prior to the edit

  • Deactivating a Workflow WILL NOT prevent the scheduled actions from occurring for contacts that were already a member of the Workflow.

  • To prevent actions from a scheduled Workflow from occurring, the contact MUST BE REMOVED from the Workflow (see below)

You should now have a better understanding of how to modify an existing Workflow using SharpSpring. As always, if you have any questions or concerns you can send an email to partnersupport@sharpspring.com.
