How to Manually Add Leads

SharpSpring enables you to manually add an individual lead without uploading them from a list or filling out a form on your website.

This is useful for when you meet somebody at a trade show or similar event. Once you have the individual's contact information, you can simply add the lead to SharpSpring. 

(Note: When you manually add a lead, that lead is not being tracked. The best way to begin tracking the lead's behavior is by sending him or her a one-off email in the "Contact Manager." Once the lead click on the link in the email, then SharpSpring can begin tracking that lead. More information on sending one-off emails, can be found here.)

Step-by-Step Guide on how to a Manually add a Lead 

Step 1: Click on the green “New” button in the upper right corner of SharpSpring.

Step 2: Select "Contact" in the drop down menu. It should be the 1st option in the menu.


Step 3: Enter the first name, last name and email address of the individual lead in the fields provided.

Step 4: Click on the blue "Add Contact" button once you're finished.

  • When you click “Add Contact” the system will check to make sure the lead is not already a contact in your database.
